Manhunt on for predator who attempted to kidnap girl


CHULA VISTA, Calif. (CBS 8) - Parents are on alert, after a predator followed and attempted to kidnap a 14-year-old on her way to school.

Police say the man slowly drove his truck on Eastlake Parkway Wednesday. He then reappeared, parked his truck, got out and grabbed the girl by her arm between 8 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. while she was walking to High Tech High School in the 1900 block of Discovery Falls Drive. However, the victim was able to escape.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 5 inches tall and about 200 pounds. He is about 28 to 30 years old and was last seen wearing a plain gray baseball cap and zipped up gray jacket.

His vehicle is described as an older tan-colored, Ford F-150 with yellow lettering on at least one side. The truck was towing an empty trailer with a possible California license plate number of 4KW5935.
